before the futon
A futon is coming. Thursday night I bought a futon to
increase the sleeping area here, as the kiddos will be
here soon, week after next. Them futons is expensive.
Seems to me the initial attraction of these things
was their thriftiness, but it took a good chunk o
change to even get this cheap one. It's a black metal
foldy sofa thingy, and I got the optional 8-inch
mattress, since it's going to get a lot of use,
instead of the standard 6-inch one. I also sprung for
the scotchguard.
So, anyway, the delivery people are due here within
the next hour or so, and the space is ready for them.
In a few hours, Trail Pal is getting married. I
really wish I could be there, it sounds like such a
lovely event they've planned. But that's the other
coast.
CONGRATULATIONS TRAIL PAL! *SQUEEZY
HUGS*
I'm so stupid. I was just now sitting here with
one arm extended, trying to hold the quickcam as close
to the living room as possible, focusing with one
finger, while sitting at the monitor trying to see how
the focus is going, when one very important fact that
had avoided me for months finally smacked me in the
forehead. I OWN A TRIPOD! All this time I have been
irritated at having lost the triangular little stand
that comes with the quickcam, and even before that it
was making me crazy that I didn't have a good place to
set up the little cam/stand unit, and here I have a
tripod I coulda been using all along. Erg.
If you happen to stumble onto this entry while the
delivery people are here, you can catch the show over
at the webcam page, but be
sure to click the link to get the update window, or
you'll be stuck with just one image. The "live"
webcam is only live when I feel up to it, which is
about once a week, which is why I haven't mentioned it
here before. Mostly I fire it up on an appointment
only basis.
