You know what's just mean? Having a case of the runs while you are on your period.

You know what's even meaner? Having an outbreak of herpes while you have the runs while you are on your period. Since everything but the period can be exacerbated by stress, and since the period can be a cause of stress, I guess I shouldn't be surprised when they converge.

You know, I have even had migraines while dealing with herpes and the runs during my period. Those are times when you just want to mercifully be shot.
