I mentioned a few entries ago that tonight (It being a mere 2:00 am for me and therefore still Tuesday in my book) would be the pre-party gathering at the Catans.
(There. I dubbed them the Catans, the pair who are throwing the Halloween party tomorrow night. Probably horribly unfair, as they do have and enjoy a great many other games. But I am just not in a creative frame of mind at the moment and have thought of nothing better.)
I got there first and helped decorate the courtyard with UV sensitive spider webs. Hundred Watt Grin was going to be late, so after the decorating, we sat down to watch Buffy's Halloween episode, with some baked chicken, couscous, asparagus, and red wine. The wine was a mistake on my part - my body heat rose and I was uncomfortably hot the rest of the evening. Must remember that for future reference.
To my surprise, Corsair arrived after roughly half an hour of Buffy. He looked pretty bad; apparently he's coming down with a cold that's been going around. At the tail end of Buffy, HWG showed up, and started tucking into his chicken as we laid out Starfarers of Catan on the table.
It was a pretty lively atmosphere, though the game itself sucked royally. Chance had conspired against all of us to give us a horribly unbalanced supply of resources. Certain key resources were randomly associated with dice rolls that are rare, which made it very difficult for any of us to build.
Ah forget the details. It's just important to know the round sucked ass, but we had a lot of fun anyway.
I got a look at Corsair's new motorcycle as we were all leaving. It's unbelievably huge. I dunno what to say. It's huge.
