This kitchen is just about the right size, with shower area to the left in the same manner (just, no wall!). I want to achieve the same effect without using a built-in, so this means finding a dresser or table about the right height and width that will allow embedding my mini-fridge (already owned) into it along with room for basin and plumbing and cooktop. I have a maybe-basin already. Needs inspection to be sure. Otherwise, I am steeply inclined toward a galvanized bucket or small washtub, for a coherent look with the stock tank tub.
Since there’s no loft, there’s a bit more space over the window that can be shelved in much the same way the outside of the shower wall in this picture is.
Where the bowl shelves are in this picture, that’s where the toaster oven and mini microwave go. No blender, but I want a one or two burner gas cooktop, with a cutting board cover that can fit over the cooktop and be moved to fit over the sink. For instance, if I am washing veggies, I transfer them afterward to the cutting board, slice or dice them, then slide over the cutting board and fire up the burner so I can cook them.
Do I want an installed cooktop or the gas equivalent of a hot plate? Clearance for the cutting board is a factor, and it’s a factor for how deep to sink the basin.
