A Whole Hour!Wooo hooo! I got a whole hour to myself tonight!!! Heh, yeah I know that sounds pathetic, and I do get more than that when I work at night and everyone is asleep, but the big difference is this time I got some time that's early enough in the evening to not be too tired to enjoy it. See tomorrow is my son's birthday. He will be four, and is sooooo proud of that. He is learning and growing and cannot wait to get to school age. So, anyway, tonight I got to go to the grocery store and get all the stuff: pizzas, cake mix, pudding (so I can make the kind of cake where you poke holes in it and let the pudding drip into the inside), plates and cups, ice cream, all of that stuff. I took a nice long while at it, and got whatever the hell I thought we needed, without a lotta hassle.
My husband thinks grocery shopping is a family event. Everytime. Normally that means everybody in the house has to pile into the van, even if just off for some milk and bread. Herding a couple tiny kids into their clothes, then into the van then into the store and back out again, combined with all the hassle of keeping them out of troule in the store...well a quick errand can become a two hour adventure. And that's not even counting all the argument over whether we really need a thing, and why, that I get out of the husband. He wants to waste money on the most trivial things and save money by cutting out the important stuff. It gets agonizing. I escaped it this time cuz he is sick (mixed blessings there). So now you see why a trip to the store all alone is such a rare and blessed event in my life.
Ludicrous.
