Notes on My Hand (cont.)
Funk & Standard is a variety store on Broad Street
in Red Bank, New Jersey. For you Kevin Smith fans, Broad Street is
where Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash is located, and where the comic
studio in "Chasing Amy" was supposed to be, and possibly is.
This is where I am doing this year's holiday shopping,
for sure. There is all kinda whacked out stuff there, mostly retro
things but some ultra modern stuff too. They have novelties and clothes
and lamps and furnishings and jewelry and more. Today I bought an
"affirmation ball." It's like a magic 8-ball but it says stuff to
cheer you up. This could be handy around here. I also bought
a pack of cards entitled "52 Things To Do At Least Once In Your Life."
I'm happy to report I've done at least 15 of them already. I really
want some of the lunchboxes I found, and the Office Voodoo Kit, complete
with boss doll that is male on one side and female on the other.
I saw so many things that were relevant to people I know, all my Xmas and
Hanukkah shopping can be done right there.
I just bought the tickets I've been saving for six
paychecks for, to make the trip I've been waiting three years to make.
I'm going to Sweden, via Copenhagen on SAS, in early January. It's
about freakin time. I'm going to visit Wlofie, and I can't wait.
After making the purchase, I just got on the monorail
that encircles Newark International Airport, and rode it to all stops,
just for the hell of it. I was consummately happy.
Something I find amazing is that my original choice
for the flight out, the afternoon one on the 5th of January, was already
sold out. I had to take another. Sold out??!! I couldn't
believe it. Hope they don't overbook the flight I've got now.
There's a diner in Jersey City called the White Mana
Diner. I'm thinking of telling all my friends who are online to look
for me on their live cam
at some set date and time. Sure, I could just try again to hook up
the live cam here at work, but that would be, well, work. And I think
the diner thing would be a lot more fun.
