Nobody Answers Email

To be fair, I can't really say that NObody answers email.  But I'm getting kinda frustrated by how little answer I get in proportion to how much I send out there.  I don't mean I send "Hi, how are you, you don't know me, just gotta say I love your site" messages.  I'm talking about letters to friends with whom there's been correspondence for some time.  I'm talking about people who whine at me, "Oh why don't we email like we used to?" and then when I do, they don't reply.  Duh.  I think maybe THAT's why, ya think?
These past days have been so horrible.  I don't even want to begin to describe how horrible.  I do want to share just one facet of the horribleness though, in case someone has some suggestions for me.  I'm learning on the fly here how to run a LAN made up of a Frankensteinian mish-mash of WinNT, Win98, and Win95 machines.  I am having very poor results keeping this network together, particularly the internet sharing aspect of it.  We can't afford to do a permanent connection to the net, and I've got people getting impatient about not being able to get on the net, and nearly every other aspect of my job has come to a complete halt.  Every night for the past week and a half I have gotten out of here no earlier than midnight.  This fuckin SUCKS!  Here's a log of just one day's trials, if you are into that sorta thing.  Maybe it will give you some idea of what is going on.  BTW, I don't normally drink at work.  Yesterday was a contender for the Absolute Worst Day of My Life and dogdammit, I had a stiff drink comin to me.
I have much more to write, but I am too flippin tired.  Oh, thanks to Skylr for the wonderful lunch, which just mighta been the only bright spot in my day yesterday.  I still have mixed shellfish in rice in the fridge.  Will do my best to eat it before it goes bad.  And thanks to Billy Bob for a great dinner tonight, even if the waiter was condiment impaired.  The coffee more than made up for it.
