Strange Spam - Part 2 of 3
This piece of odd spam I had forwarded to another of my addresses for a closer look later. I wasn't feeling myself and neglected to capture and keep the headers. Oh well.
Dear Sir, We presently have solid contacts for (lifting crude & contracts) through our contacts with the government. We have the option to lift as follows: 1. Lifting by cash call. 2. Lifting through direct NNPC contract 3. Lifting through existing contracts. 4. Lifting by moonlighting. The details will be forwarded to you as soon as we know exactly what you prefer. As soon as you reply, we shall link you up to the main source. We hope that above will meet your needs. Hoping to hear from you very soon. Yours faithfully, Williams Oge.
I was baffled, and also waffling on whether to Google some of the phrases, or just preserve the mystery. Finally learning won out.
Turns out that this is a new Nigerian scam - not identifiable as such by the style of the email, but by the fact that the scam is talking about offloading Nigerian crude oil. Ain't that something?
